Carmel Paintings

Steve and I are once again renting a cottage in Carmel. It's so charming and inspiring. I have painted 3 paintings recently that I am going to post. The one of the tomatoes is sold already. I plan to open an ebay account to put paintings on auction soon.

Linda's Lemons

8x10 Oil on Gessoed Board

Spent a lovely Sunday afternoon recently with a friend who is studying art at school. We met a year ago when her Aunt Jo arranged for a visit to my studio. We have been in contact through email and face book since then. This time we thought it would be fun to paint together at my studio. Since Amanda had never painted in oil before it was amazing to me how beautiful her painting turned out. I had a frame that fit et Voila. Finished painting in 2 hours!

These were fresh lemons right off one of trees. Set up simply on the table on my studio deck using a black cloth as background and slicing one of the lemons for added interest. I wanted to show Amanda that painting doesn't need to be so complicated. Just set it up, squeeze out the paint and get started. I also showed her how to open and set up a French Easel. I don't have any pictures of the setup with the two of us painting because my camera was full, Dang it.  I am hoping the Amanda will send me some and especially her own painting so I can post it here.

And finally the little lemon painting found a good home at my sister's Linda's new place.

More Pears

First rainy evening in Montecito that I can remember in a very long time. Enjoyed a cosy productive time in front of my easel. Listening to rain on the roof along with a little jazzy music. My favorite Votivo Red Currant candle burning. So nice.

Quite unexpectedly sold a little painting yesterday! Nice surprise.
