More Pears

First rainy evening in Montecito that I can remember in a very long time. Enjoyed a cosy productive time in front of my easel. Listening to rain on the roof along with a little jazzy music. My favorite Votivo Red Currant candle burning. So nice.

Happy studio, Happy Painter.
Still working on the Stock and Ranuncula painting. So complicated. I may have bitten off more than I can chew.  I am reminded of something I read once though I forget who said it.  "I love biting off more than I can chew and proceeding to chew it!".  I will keep that in mind as I plug along../ Stuck a frame on it just to help it look better sitting on the easel while Steve and I are gone for the week. Leaving for Carmel tomorrow.  Packing my painting supplies!!

Santa Barbara Palm

I love Palm trees and here in Santa Barbara there are so many varieties. In fact we have palm trees here some of which are extinct in their place of origin. I plan to do a series of paintings that reflects this abundance.

Backyard Lemon Tree

This is a Plein Air work painted for Steve in our garden.

My newly renovated studio

Just before Christmas I had some renovation work done on my studio
. It had water damage from an undetected leak in the roof. Ended up taking an interior wall down and putting a window in. It is now a lovely place that I am enjoying spending time in. Lots of paintings will be forthcoming from my easel. Hooray!!
